Deacon Judge Henry “Sonny” Williams, was born on June 29, 1935 in Friars Point, Mississippi to Mr. and Mrs. Judge and Georgia Mae Williams. Judge was the youngest of seven: Daisy, Elsie (deceased), Andrew, Ernestine (deceased), Annie (deceased) and Lillian (deceased).
Judge confessed his hope in Christ at an early age. In 1951, his mom and dad left Desson, Mississippi and brought he and his siblings to St. Louis, MO. By 1958 he met and married Ms. Georgia Mae Jackson. To this union were born four beautiful children: Rodney, Cynthia, Trudy and Vernon. Deacon Williams was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia and eldest son, Rodney.
After the death of his first wife, Judge met and married Lurline Perry. To this union, a loving blended family blossomed. Joining Judge’s four children were Lurline’s eight children: Jerome, Janice, Cedric, Ricky, Annette, Monette, Tarvino and Andrea (plus a host of nieces and nephews).
Growing up in St. Louis, Judge attended the McKinley High School and later earned his GED. Deacon Williams had a brief career as a professional boxer. He worked as a chauffeur and entrepreneur at Hudson Chemical and Cleaning Company for several years before becoming a permanent employee of the Anheuser-Busch, Inc. He worked as a production operator in their St. Louis plant before he was forced to retire after an accident on the job that left him paralyzed from the waist down in 1988.
Judge attended several churches in St. Louis: Mount Sinai MBC (H. R. Baker, Pastor), New Evergreen MBC (Rev. Robinson, Pastor) and Liberty Community Worship Center (Bishop Arthur Jones, Pastor). At Liberty Community Worship Center, Judge served as Sunday School Superintendent and Deacon until his health failed him and did not allow him to attend on a regular basis.
On October 25, 2020, Deacon Judge Henry Williams entered into eternity and is now at peace.
