Mr. Harold Sago Obituary

Reflections of Life

Harold Anthony Sago, affectionately known as Sago, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2023, in Berkeley, Missouri. Born on October 14, 1958, in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of the late Celina Lewis Sago and Barbara (Woolridge) Sago. Sago was a beacon of laughter, generosity, and selflessness, leaving an indelible impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Sago received his education in Memphis, where he began cultivating the hard-working spirit that would define his professional life. Sago relocated to St. Louis, MO, to be near his daughter. His career was marked by decades of dedicated service as a concrete truck driver with the Eastern Concrete Company from where he retired.

Beyond his professional life, Sago was a man of many talents and interests. He married his beloved wife, Celestine Sago, who sadly predeceased him in 2001. Together, they created a home filled with love, laughter, and the mouthwatering aroma of his cooking. Sago was a master of the grill, especially known for his barbecue and his homemade barbecue sauce. His culinary skills were only outshone by his joyful spirit, which earned him the title of "life of the party" among friends and family.

Sago's love for music was evident in his impressive singing talent, earning him the affectionate nickname "Black Elvis" from his adoring daughter. His love for capturing precious moments led him to develop an interest in photography and videography, cherishing every memory made with his loved ones.

Harold Anthony Sago is survived by his children, Shara M. Frison and Heraldo A. Levy. He was a cherished grandfather to Taylor Turner III, Kayla Turner, Gianna Townsend, and Heriyah D. Levy. Sago also leaves behind his brothers, Phillip Woolridge, Louis Sago, Floyd Kelly, Joseph Kelly, George Kelly, and Kevin Kelly, and his sisters, Rochelle Kelly, Delores Kelly, and Latania Stewart. He will also be remembered by a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends, all of whom he loved dearly.

In the hearts of his loved ones, Sago will always be remembered as a man who brought joy to every room he entered. His laughter was contagious, his generosity knew no bounds, and his selflessness was unparalleled. His memory will continue to inspire those who knew him, leaving a legacy of love, barbeque, laughter, and kindness.
