Mr. Jaylyne Combs Obituary

JAYLYNE EDWARD COMBS was born on November 29th, 1998 to Angela R. Drake and Steven E. Combs. Jaylyne was the 2nd child of his mother's three children. His father preceded him in death.

While growing up, Jaylyne played football, baseball, basketball, and tennis. He was never afraid to try different sports.

Jaylyne was educated at Christ Light of the Nations and Bishop DuBourg High School before transferring to North County Tech High where he graduated in 2017.

Jaylyne was adventurous to leave home and was eager to spread his wings. Jaylyne had been traveling before he arrived into this world when his mom took him on an adventurous 8-hour road trip to Tennessee. He always knew there was something bigger and better waiting for him outside of St Louis.

Jaylyne convinced his mom that he wanted to attend school in Iowa and she gave her blessings. While in school, Jay felt it was too much snow, so he needed a place of sun and warm temperatures. He came up with the idea of going to school in Texas and his mother thought it was crazy, but she allowed him to move forward. Jaylyne enrolled in college in Tyler, TX to pursue his degree in TV/Radio Broadcasting. Jay met people from all over the world from New York to New Orleans. Jaylyne truly LOVED Texas and had plans to live in Dallas after graduating.

He was always traveling with family or friends to different cities and getaways. Jay's dreams were to travel domestically and internationally to experience fine cuisines and cultures as a travel documentarian. The passion he had for great food kept him engaged and captivated by what many chefs were creating in the kitchen! This encouraged him to try new recipes at home.

Jaylyne had the opportunity to visit Nassau Bahamas for a week with 21 family members before the pandemic arrived. He had nothing but smiles each day during this vacation. He always enjoyed coming home and being with his family for dinners. He knew that there was something great in the kitchen waiting for him! He had a smile that was affectionate to all which made you smile in return. Jaylyne "never met a stranger" because he always made everyone feel like they were a friend no matter where he went. He was a young man who always listened to others while learning of their stories and adventures. Jaylyne traveled to so many different places in his 22 years on this earth and was loved by many. Jaylyne's bond with his mother was very special especially going through this journey.

Jaylyne accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior under Pastor Michael Cleveland at Trinity Mt. Carmel. Jaylyne was so excited to be a part of this church and his future.

Jaylyne leaves to cherish his memories: his mother: Angela; siblings: Jaylai and Jacoby; siblings, Davontie', Jordan, Steve Jr., Star, Precious, Faith, Isaac, Isaiah, Ashton and l'na; grandmothers: Deborah Drake and Ermalene Combs; aunts: Charmaine (Troy Sr.), Rhonda and Chassity; uncles, Paul (Felicia), Damieon and William Darren; niece: Harmoni; nephews: Exccle and Rico; and a host of cousins, great-aunts, great-uncles and friends who will miss him dearly.
