Mrs. Dorothy Pampkin Obituary

Reflections of Her Journey

Mrs. Dorothy Jean Pampkin, affectionately known as "DOT," was born on June 22, 1948, in New Madrid, MO to Frances Johnson and Claudis Williamson, both of whom preceded her in death.  Surrounded by family who loved her unconditionally, Dot transitioned to Heaven on March 23, 2024.

Dorothy's life was marked by love and unwavering faith. She attended Obannon High School in New Madrid, MO, graduating at the age of 16. Known for her passion for mathematics, cooking, real estate investing, and caring for her family, Dorothy had a radiant smile that could light up any room. She enjoyed playing cards, shopping, and giving back to her community through volunteering.

On January 17, 1984, Dorothy married the love of her life, Albert A.C. Pampkin, and together they lived out their vows of "until death do us part." She devoted her life to Christ under the guidance of the late Bishop Dwight McDaniels Jr., finding solace in gospel music as a reflection of her spiritual connection with God.

Dorothy's unconditional love extended to her family, for whom she was a remarkable mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She found joy in nurturing her husband and children, and her legacy of love will forever live on.

During Dorothy's lifetime, she was grateful to have a supportive circle of loved ones whom she considered angels sent to care for her, preventing her from succumbing to her illness. This circle included her husband A.C., daughter Erica, granddaughter Nestle, and cousin Dorothy Burgess.

Left to cherish her memory are her siblings, Norma Huff, Gwendolyn Johnson, Sonia Perkins, and Francella Johnson; children, Derrick Williamson, Darren Jones (Olivia), Rachel Jones-Guthrie (Carl), LaTonda Jones, Erica Jones, and Shaun Jones; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her siblings, Everett Johnson, Phillip Johnson, Minnie Lee Johnson, Calina Robinson, and Elgin Johnson; her children, Andre Williamson and Mark Jones Sr.; and her grandchildren, Markitta A. Jones, Anytrone D. Jones, and Mark A. Jones Jr.

Her unwavering love, faith, and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace.
